still in search of a straight line...
This constellation of works all have their roots in some kind of conceptual processes that were executed via drawing. As a result of these works, an element of thinking through time-consuming processes became a vital part of my practice, starting in 2001 with the piece still in search of a straight line... The latest piece Sprint Jump Glide challenging both what a drawing is and to undermind the concepts that gave birth to the piece.

This piece is a conceptual play with materials and meanings. The five shapes were made drawing the shadows cast by twisted disposable plastic nets, which are used to protect bottles of alcohol in transit. These pencil drawings were then laser cut in specialist Perspex used for the luxury boating industry and exhibited in a precarious way leaning against the wall creating a shadow play on the wall that hosted them.

Shadow Cabinet formed part of my Master of Fine Art show at the Royal College of Art.

These two works were made for the show The Science of Superheroes a two person show with artist Ben Woodeson at OVERGADEN Institute of Contemporary Art in Copenhagen.

Since it’s completion in 2001, this piece has travelled extensively and been shown in a number of countries. It consists of twelve books that contains tracings of all the illustrations in a children's encyclopedia. The drawings are made on translucent tracing paper allowing the images from several pages to form conversations 'through the layers of knowledge'. The piece invites the viewer to leaf through the images on display.
